How can we help your bottom line?
First of all, creating a bilingual environment may be your organization's most cost-efficient growth tool. Whether you represent a medical institution, an insurance company or a pharmaceutical concern, we can help you expand your base.
Secondly, scores of law firms are eagerly trying to cash in on the effects of inadequate Spanish language assistance in the health care industry. LanguageCare will prove to be a cost-effective tool, as it provides a shield against language related malpractice lawsuits. By significantly lowering such risks, insurance companies should underwrite their policies at significantly lower costs.

What kind of services does LanguageCare provide?
LanguageCare provides comprehensive Spanish language services for the health care, life insurance and pharmaceutical industries. See our Services section.

Does LanguageCare work in other languages other than Spanish?
No. LanguageCare is the only company to specialize strictly on the Spanish language, and its multiple variations, in the realm of health care.

What is the cost of your services?
The cost of our services varies depending on the volume, turn-around time and complexity. Tell us what you need and we'll design a customized plan for you. If you need an individual translation, please click here to obtain an immediate estimate.

What is a health-care environment?
A health care environment is formed by all the elements with which a patient interacts during the health-care process -seeking medical products or services, receiving those products or services, and learning from health care sources how to monitor one's health. An elevator map at a hospital, the directions of any given drug, and a health insurance form, are all part of a health care environment.

What is generic Spanish? Is the Spanish from Puerto Rico different from, say, the Spanish spoken in Mexico or Nicaragua?
Generic Spanish is a written form of the Spanish language that doesn't address a specific region of the Spanish speaking world. Spanish is a multinational language like English or Arabic, which presents many variations. While these variations may be minimal at the academic level, in practice they can be significant.

Is LanguageCare a translation agency?
Not exactly. Agencies are mere brokers that distribute all kinds of texts to translators in every possible combination of languages. LanguageCare, on the other hand, is a multidisciplinary team of Spanish speaking linguists and medical specialists, who apply their expertise to one common goal -creating texts that are culturally relevant to our diverse Hispanic audiences with the utmost medical rigor and accuracy.

What does it mean to field-test a translation?
To make sure that our translations are meaningful and ring true, we provide first proofs to "real people", who help us fine-tune our work.

What is the difference between a translation and a transliteration?
A transliteration is a simple replacement of words from one language into another, regardless of grammatical structure or any semantic consideration. Translation software, for example, invariably yield meaningless transliterations.
A translation, on the other hand, is a sophisticated interpretative process in which the translator has to consider factors such as "text intention" and "author intention", to reproduce a message into another language.

What is dubbing?
Dubbing is a translation process for audiovisual media, such as cinema, video or television, whereby the source language (English) is replaced with the target language (Spanish). This process is known as voice-over when the source sounds are kept on the background with lowered intensity.
